KajaFax has over the years featured many remixes & cover versions of Kajagoogoo and Limahl songs.

Today, we feature a recent remake of Limahl’s smash hit The Never Ending Story.
Released in February of this year, Japanese girl group E-girls offered their take on the classic hit, proving the point that a quality song really does last the test of time…..albeit in this case with a very modern and commercial makeover.

The single made number 2 in the Japanese singles chart and probably raised Limahl’s profile in Japan tenfold in the process. The track was the 4th to be issued from their debut album and shifting over 40,000 copies in it’s first week is the group’s biggest selling single to date.
KajaFax are not so sure about this one but thought our readers may find it interesting if nothing else!
If J-Pop or the E-girls is your sort of thing, check out their website by clicking the below image:

Two accounts have appeared on the social media sites Twitter and Facebook that we feel should be brought to the attention of all fans.
Neither page is in any way official or affiliated with the band although both imply that they are – in the case of the twitter account actually claiming to be so.
The Twitter account is @KajagoogooKaja and can be viewed HERE
The Facebook account can be viewed HERE
KajaFax have been in contact with the band, and can confirm that both accounts are in no way official and are probably the result of well meaning or over enthusiastic fan(s).
Please be aware that any news published on-line via these unofficial accounts is not necessarily accurate as it is not from an official source.
The only source of official band news is via the official sites of Kajagoogoo, Limahl, Nick Beggs and of course via us here at KajaFax.
Thanks for reading KajaFax and offering your continuing support to Kajagoogoo!

Nick Beggs – Exclusive CD Pre-Order!
Today we bring great news of two pre-order items that are nothing short of essential.

KajaFax is all about the music, and so the first item we feature is a brand new Nick Beggs CD album.
‘The Darkness in Men’s Hearts’ is released on June 24th.
The tracklisting is:
The Darkness in Men’s Hearts
All the Things You Are
My Joy
The Meaning of Everything
Downstream
Tava
The Maverick Helmsman
So Far Away
Willow
Kumara
The Vigil
After the Wave
Here’s what the record company have to say:
“Topped and tailed with two new pieces, Nick Beggs’ Burning Shed label debut is a compilation of the solo Chapman Stick pieces from his two albums, The Stick Insect (2000) and The Maverick Helmsman (2004).
Containing superbly executed lyrical and atmospheric sketches that by turns suggest Modern Jazz (Metheny, Pastorious), Art Rock (Tony Levin), Ambient, and Classical guitar recitals, The Darkness in Men’s Hearts is a consistently engaging and meditative experience that displays the more introspective side of a most extrovert performer.”
Click on the below to be directed to the order page and purchase your copy!
As if that wasn’t enough, and as a follow up to the earlier cartoon work “Steven Wilson’s Day Off”, Nick releases “Steven Wilson and the Guitar of EPIJ”, also on June 24th

“Nick Beggs’ follow-up to his hugely successful comic, ‘Steven Wilson’s Day Off’, is an equally surreal adventure sure to delight fans of both Steven Wilson and the maverick Stick/Bass guru.
Take it away, Nick, “Steven Wilson sits under the watchful eye of his faithful hound in the trophy room. As he contemplates his achievements, there is one adornment with which he is ill at ease. What is to be done about this cumbersome accolade and how will he find restitution?”
Cue the guitar of EPIJ!”
An A4, 6 page, 12 panel, full colour comic pamphlet signed by Nick and containing a pull-out poster.
Reserve your copy by following THIS LINK.
Great news indeed for all fans of Kajagoogoo and indeed the Beggion.

Limahl’s Euro-Singles: Danger D’Amour
Always aiming to bring you the best in all things ‘Goo, KajaFax have again ‘gone the extra mile’ to showcase another often overlooked gem.
In 1986 when Limahl released his second album Colour All My Days, somebody (we assume) at EMI decided to broaden his appeal to non-English speaking European audiences by making the suggestion that Limahl re-record his songs in other languages. No Lo Pienses Más (Colour All My Days) and of course L’histoire Sans Fin (The Never Ending Story) both received the Euro treatment, and today we feature another such release.

Danger d’amour (Love in Your Eyes) was issued by EMI Pathé Marconi in France in 1986.

The picture cover is identical to the UK issue but with the addition of French lyrics on the reverse.

Kajagoogoo – TV Documentary Update
As a follow up to Sunday’s post and as promised, we bring you full details of yesterday’s ‘Now That’s What I Call Music’ television documentary featuring Kajagoogoo and Limahl.
KajaFax have worked hard to make this great show available to all fans as soon as we possibly can – and what a show it was! The production company did a superb job and Limahl and Kajagoogoo featured many times during the entire length of the show. As a special bonus (and surprisingly to us), Kajagoogoo had a whole section of the programme dedicated entirely to them, and the show features interviews with Limahl as well as video clips of Too Shy, Only for Love and Big Apple.
A treat for fans and a very interesting show for fans of 80s music in general.
UK readers can click on the below ITV Player logo to stream straight from the broadcaster. Everybody else – click the ‘Filesend’ logo to download your copy in windows media video format. Remember; do not click on the advertising banners…..the yellow ‘download now’ button appears after around 25 seconds in the bottom left corner of the frame….

Today we bring some great news as supplied to us by Kajagoogoo HQ.

Kajagoogoo are set to appear in a television documentary being broadcast on ITV in the UK this coming bank holiday Monday, May 27th.
Entitled The Story of Now!, the show has been made to celebrate 30 years of the Now! series of compilation albums. As major contributors to the early Now! releases, the band will be featured in tomorrow night’s show. The programme also includes a newly filmed interview with Limahl about those formative years and the bands involvement in those inaugural albums.
Curiously, the track listings for the earlier Now! albums were in some cases format dependant, but in all its variants the guys have featured seven times. If you are curious about the Now! series in the UK and how many times the band have featured, how is this for impressive…..

Now! vol. 1: Three times (Only for Love, Big Apple, Too Shy)
Now! vol. 2: Once (The Lion’s Mouth)
Now! vol. 3: Twice (Turn Your Back on Me, Too Much Trouble)
Now! vol. 4: Once (The Never Ending Story)
Now!….the history bit 🙂
The Now! project itself was the brainchild of two Virgin Records executives, Stephen Navin and Jon Webster who, following a particularly lucrative year (1983), decided to mark the occasion by the issue of an ‘end of year’ retrospective. The idea was put to Virgin’s Managing Director Simon Draper who, knowing that collaboration between the two labels would be mutually beneficial, spoke to his EMI counterpart, Peter Jamieson. The union between the two labels was finally formed onboard Richard Branson’s yacht on the Thames, and the double album quality product that we know and love was born.

The ‘Pig and Chicken’ characters that are associated with and used to promote the earlier Now! albums are of curious origin. The pair were borrowed from a 1920’s advertising poster for Danish bacon, a print of which was given as a gift by Richard Branson to Virgin exec Simon Draper as a joke (until his full English breakfast had been eaten, Draper was notoriously grumpy in the mornings). By ’83, the characters were set to invade the homes of many British music lovers as they made the transition from Simon Draper’s wall to cover stars for a product to be found in literally millions of UK homes.
The show will be available tomorrow (Monday May 27th) at 10pm UK time. Readers with access to the ITV iPlayer can click on the below ITV logo to be taken to the player page. If not, watch this space – as always, we will do our best to bring the show directly to you to stream and/or download!
To round off today’s news, step back in time to that moment when, maybe around the early part of December of 1983, your Christmas list probably gained an extra item….

Limahl in ‘Giorgio Moroder’ Documentary
Today’s update will be of general interest to anybody that appreciates quality crafted pop music and of course for our purposes with a specific interest in Limahl.
It is no exaggeration to say that Italy’s Giorgio Moroder is a music producer of legendary status. He is solely responsible for some of the very best musical output of the 1970s and 1980s and has made an indelible mark of the history of popular music all over the world. In 1984, EMI Records asked Limahl to travel to Japan to perform at the Tokyo Music Festival. The event was held at the historic Budokan Arena and had an audience of 10,000 – with a further 44 million watching on television! It was here that Limahl had the all important chance meeting with Giorgio Moroder, who just happened to be working on the soundtrack to a new movie entitled ‘The NeverEnding Story’…

The BBC have commissioned a two-part documentary about Moroder, a section of which discusses his work with Limahl on the Never Ending Story project as well as his production work on Limahl’s second album ‘Colour All My Days’. The broadcast is over two parts, with the first part available now via the BBC ‘IPlayer‘ service, with part 2 being broadcast tomorrow at 10pm UK time.
KajaFax wants to ensure that each and every reader has the opportunity to listen to this great show and offers you three different listening options.
You can either listen via BBC IPlayer (UK only), stream via ‘VideoBam’, or download via ‘Sendspace’. Click on the image of your choice to be directed to your preferred option:
