A Japanese twitter user posted this photo up earlier this week and it got me wondering what it was all about.  Is it new or is it old?  What exactly is it promoting?

This photo was taken in Matsue, Japan:

This photo comes with no speculation or gossip, it’s just an interesting photo that fills me with intrigue!

Anyone who does know, I’d be very interesting to hear from!

Art Nouveau 1979 Footage

December 8, 2010

Once in a while something pretty special comes along that we’ve never seen before and this is one of those things.

Brand new and freshly shared by Jez Strode himself, this is footage of Art Nouveau recorded on Super Cine 8 film at a rehearsal at the Angel Cards factory in Leighton Buzzard.

This is special, enjoy!

It is fantastic that rare merchandise items are coming in from the request from last week.  These two items are particularly interesting and more so that I’ve never seen either before.

These items belong to ‘Steven AKA Denny’ so many thanks to him for taking the time to share them with us.

First, we also have a rare merchandise sheet, somehow I doubt any order placed now would turn up!

KajaGooGoo

The next is a very rare early newsletter from the early days of KajaGooGoo and as the letter states, before the official KajaFax club was created.  The reverse:

And the front:

So there we have the newsletter referred to as No.2, does anyone have any knowledge of the mysterious No1. or maybe have No.3??

Huge thanks to ‘Steven AKA Denny’ for sharing 🙂

Industrial Salt

December 7, 2010

Back in 2004/2005, a band called ‘Industrial Salt’ were to prove to be a big hit in Japan.

They were backed by our very own ‘Steve Askew’ and ‘Nick Beggs’

KajaGooGoo

The band consisted of Hayley Bonnick on guitar and backing vocals, Alex Stamp on vocals and electric piano.

The band initially began when Hayley had been having guitar lessons with Steve, they recorded a song for Hayley’s GCSE project.  Steve played the track to Nick and a band was born!!

The band produced one album ‘A Pocket Full of Magnetic Letters’ (the name was a suggestion from Ann Beggs) and this was released via Sony Music in Japan.  Their first single ‘Sugar Bomb Baby’ was written by Steve Askew and Nick Beggs.

Industrial Salt do an awesome version of Rocket Boy which you can hear on their Myspace page:

Unfortunately, Hayley left the band in November 2007 and no more gigs were played.

Take a look at the official Industrial Salt website:

The Goo boys scored a chart hit with Industrial Salt over in Japan with the track ‘Loop & Loop (Under the Thunder) and they toured over threre three times.

I’m sure you’ll agree, Industrial Salt were a fantastic band.

This EP is also out there in a four track version with Big Apple on there too.  Many thanks to Steve for sending photos in of this one.

The White Feathers Laser Disc is also on KajaFax:
