Nick Beggs at Culture Club Big Re-Wind Tour 1998 USA
Along with a huge list of other artists he has worked with, Nick Beggs has been a part of the Howard Jones band and this has taken him off on some great tours.
Back in July/August 1998, Culture Club embarked on their Big Re-Wind tour which featured The Human League and Howard Jones on the bill.
This is a tour itinerary for the USA part of the tour. These were given out to members of the band and the crew, they list things like where and when they will be performing, rehearsing and when days off would be.
Nick is listed in the Howard Jones section of the inventory:
Nick didn’t end up playing in the UK part of the tour as for this, Howard Jones was replaced with ABC.
Many thanks to ‘Steven AKA Denny’ for sharing this item with us. Aswell as KajaGooGoo and other artists, he’s a huge Culture Club fan and this is one of those nice items that has a crossover element to it featuring Nick.
Nick has certainly spent a lot of time on tour over the years and this would have been a fantastic one to be part of.

Apologies that the first picture encroaches into the widgets on the right side. If you click the picture, it will open in a window where you can read it clearly.

Nick Beggs on Songs For Luca
In 2003, Dave and Debbie Bainbridge of band Iona were looking for an idea to raise some money to help their autistic son ‘Luca’ be part of the Son-Rise program in America.
The idea was born to put together an album and they asked all of their musician friends for some assistance in this project. The result was huge generosity as the artists donated tracks to the album and this album ended up being a double CD!
The album was called ‘Songs for Luca’:
More about the cause was listed inside the CD:
Two of the tracks on the album were donated by Nick Beggs and they were written especially for it, there were ‘For Luca’ and ‘Forever in My Heart’.
The full track listing on the album is:
We have decided not to upload and share these two tracks due to the charity aspect of the album, it would be a disrespectful thing to do.
More about the project is here with an interview about the album with Debbie and Dave Bainbridge:
http://www.iona.uk.com/recordings/luca%20cd/songs%20for%20luca_interview.htm
The CD is available online from various outlets. Search for ‘Songs for Luca CD’ and you will find a few very easily, your choice which to use.
The two tracks from Nick are both superb and take on a deeper meaning when you think of why they were written and recorded. It’s a special album and although it features many artists, it’s a great part of Nick’s back catalogue work.
If Nick did happen to see this post and contacted us to say it would be fine to upload the tracks, we would happily do that on his approval.

Chris Hamill Acting in Godspell and Joseph (Limahl)
Way before his singing career took off and taking on his stage name, the young Chris Hamill was an aspiring actor.
Back in 1979, Chris performed in ‘Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ in a national tour:
The programme from the show lists Chris inside as Benjamin:
The mini biography for Chris reads, “Born in Lancashire, has been working as working as a solo singer in cabaret for several years. Christmas last, saw Chris at the Grand Theatre, Swansea, in the record-breaking production of Aladdin. Chris has just completed a short feature film based on his cabaret act.”
And then in 1980, Chris performed in Godspell.
The mini biography in this one reads, “Chris Hamill has become a popular ‘Benjamin’ in several repertory productions, as well as a National tour of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Chris has been seen on television in Grange Hill School for B.B.C. and has recorded The Gentle Touch to be seen shortly on L.W.T. Chris’ success is such that he now has his own Official Fan Club.”
Thankfully, Chris went on to pursue his singing career and the rest is history but these are fantastic items in the early career of Limahl.
Huge thanks to ‘Steven AKA Denny’ for sharing these with us.

White Feathers Duran Duran Signed Programme
One of my Goo missions is to between us all, find a ticket from each of the concerts of the White Feathers tour in 1983.
We’ve had two so far and now here is a third with a great story.
This ticket for the Birmingham show of the tour is owned by ‘Steve AKA theraggedtiger’. He tells me how there was an interesting story attached to this particular ticket.
Tha lady herself who sold this ticket stub had been to the concert and was sat next to Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes. They had gone along to the gig to support the Goo and provide a bit of promotion.
So, the lady in question seized the moment and asked the two Duran chaps to pop a signature on the tour programme, which they duly did. The programme was included with the ticket:
I think Steve has the same feeling as me with the tickets as he did note that the signed programme was a bonus, it was the ticket that he was mainly after.
I shall begin a side post soon to collate all of the tickets we feature, get them together and see if we can collect them all!
Fantastic items here, many thanks as always to the tiger for sharing.
