Scarce audio and video footage is something that we particularly enjoy here at KajaFax, and we know that you do too. What we bring to you now is pulled from the 1989 archives and features the sublime sounds of Simon Ellis, Nick Beggs and Austin Howard. Following their support slot on theT’Pau tour in the UK and over Europe, and fresh from their efforts at the San Remo Festival, Ellis Beggs and Howard hit the road in 1989 as a headlining act.
A year or so ago, KajaFax showcased a bootleg CD recording originally made at the Birmingham Goldwyns gig back in the February of 1989. For today’s feature, we thought it would be nice to share some more of that footage with you. If you missed our original article, you can find it HERE.

Music festivals in the UK are a great opportunity to see Limahl perform on the big stage in front of a big crowd. This weekend sees ‘Chilfest’, an event sure to be a real cracker! WDR 4 Summer Open Air Concert – ’80’s Disco Party’, Münster, Germany
To round off today’s news article, we have an update on the live Limahl show that took place in Munster, Germany on Friday night. The concert itself is scheduled to be broadcast on the radio on Tuesday 14th July at around 7pm UK time, and can be heard HERE. For now, here is a small section of video filmed and supplied courtesy of WDR4 Television. We also have some super photographs of Limahl on stage, taken at the event by Matthias Ahlke.

Hello! Today we bring footage from last night’s Limahl performance. The Kajagoogoo frontman featured on the bill of the 80’s Superstar Festival, held at the Energylandia Amusement Park in Zator, Poland. If you were there, we hope you enjoyed the show!
One song always guaranteed to be in the set-list is Never Ending Story, and the clip we have for you now is of that very song, which Limahl uses to close his set.

80’s Superstar Festival, Energylandia Amusement Park, Zator, Poland
Festival season is well and truly upon us! This weekend is a good one for Limahl fans in Europe and in particular Poland, as our man plays the ‘80’s Superstar Festival’ in Zator, Poland. Also taking to the stage on Saturday will be Alphaville, Boney M and Modern Talking amongst others.

Kajagoogoo in Bassist Magazine 1999
One thing that we love here at KajaFax are magazine articles. For a band that (if the newspapers are to be believed) few profess to be interested in, Kajagoogoo have in actual fact a large and dedicated fan base. Subsequently, band members are regularly featured in magazine articles in the British music press. Today, we roll back time to June 1999 and a great interview/feature on Nick Beggs. Limahl: Live on Stage in Birmingham Tonight
Our post for today is of particular interest to KajaFans in the UK, particularly those in Birmingham.
Hot on the heels of last night’s spectacular performance at Stockholm’s Ericsson Globe Arena, Limahl will be appearing live on stage tonight at the multi award winning Eden Bar, as they host their ‘Eden Pride’ event. The good news doesn’t stop there, as entry to the show is absolutely free! 🙂

Toshiba – EMI Promotional Calendar
Japanese music fans in the 1980’s had it better than those in any other territory. Period. With their luxurious vinyl editions, superior audio mastering, and quality control standards that were second to none, that is certainly the way it seems looking at things with a retrospective eye. Today, we revisit some fine vintage memorabilia originating from Japan in the mid 80’s.
Issued by Toshiba-EMI in 1984 (for use in 1985) this highly collectible calendar is a lovely example of the top quality merchandise to come out of Japan during those years.
A ‘who’s who’ of the music scene, the calendar houses some lovely prints of many British pop and rock figures, with David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran all making an appearance.
Our interests of course lie with the inclusion of Limahl and Kajagoogoo in the celebrity line-up.
Each artiste has it’s own dedicated page – printed in lovely glossy colour. On the reverse is printed discography information. Here is the Kajagoogoo and Limahl insert:
The calendar is a textured card ‘frame’ that houses individual pages for each artiste and also each month.
