Thanks go out to every one of our entrants for taking the time to play in the competition – this year’s quiz proved more challenging than in previous years, with only 12 of the 137 entrants achieving maximum marks!

Firstly, congratulations go out to all of our entrants who scored full marks – if your name is in this list – well done!

Nathalie, Alan, Nicholas, Bastiaan, Natascha, Maggs, Rebecca, Kevin, Bartosz, Anna, Carin & Will.

KajaHunt 2013 – How to Enter

December 21, 2013

Alternate KajaHunt2013 Animated

Welcome back.  By now, you should have twenty correct answers to all twenty KajaHunt questions.

Steve and I would love to make you all winners but alas, KajaFax has a zero budget and runs on mere love and goodwill.

This being the case, we have to find three worthy KajaFans to make our 2013 competition champions 😉

Here is how we are going to do it.

Firstly, we need to have your answers, numbered from 1 to 20.

Remember, if you can’t answer all 20 questions – don’t worry!

Send in the answers to the questions that you do know, and you may still be a winner.  If we don’t receive enough entries containing all 20 correct answers, prizes will be awarded to  those with the next highest number of correct answers.  It could be YOU! 🙂

Email your entry to KajaFax at admin@kajafax.com.

The competition closes at 12 noon on December 23rd 2013.

The winners will be announced on Christmas Eve.

KajaHunt 2013 – Day 19….and Happy Birthday Limahl!

Welcome to day nineteen of 2013′s KajaHunt.  Today’s question relates to the lovely Limahl.

HBL

disclaimer

Limahl celebrates his birthday today, and KajaFax on behalf of the fans send him our very best wishes on this, his special day. Have a fabulous day Limahl!

Today’s question relates to our man and goes back to the late 1990’s.

record

Limahl has been responsible for some terrific solo output. Often overlooked, he has consistently turned out quality solo singles as well as his three solo albums. We are all eagerly awaiting his next solo single!

On with today’s question:

What was the name of the Limahl track that was exclusively available on the compilation CD album entitled ‘12” of Pleasure‘ ?

Instruction

Have you played our ‘track of the week’ by Limahl?

‘London For Christmas’ is available from all good digital retailers, including iTunes.

Welcome to the eighteenth day of 2013’s KajaHunt competition!

We are very close to the end of the competition now, with only two more days of questions left to go.

Do you have seventeen correct answers so far? I hope so – the competition thrives on its entrants and without you, there would be no KajaHunt…..or indeed no site at all.  Thank you for taking part!

Let’s go with question 18, and see if you can get that step closer to the finish line and a shot at a prize!

As somebody once said….”I wanna go back in time“…..

Here is today’s puzzler :

Under which pseudonym was Limahl rhythmically walking in 1995?

KajaHunt 2013 – Day 17

‘KajaHunt’ Treasure Hunt Competition Day 17

Day seventeen of KajaHunt is here….and Christmas is getting close!

Today, we go back a few short years to the latter part of the last decade.

gttm

By 2007, Kajagoogoo had regrouped (albeit as a three piece outfit), and for the first time since ’85 were back in the studio recording new material under the Kajagoogoo banner.

retro

Fans were ecstatic as the first fruits of those sessions were released into the public domain, and rumour spread of a possible new album.  That album, of course, was 2008’s Gone to the Moon.

‘Tears’ was issued in 2005 as a part of the ‘This is Not Retro’ album.

kajagoogoo

It was a sign of things to come….

Here is today’s question:

Name the Kajagoogoo comeback single, released in 2007 ?

Instruction

Have you played our ‘track of the week’ by Limahl?

‘London For Christmas’ is available from all good digital retailers, including iTunes.

Download your copy today and help make the track a festive smash.

KajaHunt 2013 – Day 16

December 16, 2013

‘KajaHunt’ Treasure Hunt Competition Day 16

Xmas_Dividers_14

Welcome to day 16 of the quiz…..it’s almost over for 2013 😦

Today we move away from Kajagoogoo and venture into the murky world of solo projects.

A very well known British pop frontman once said that  solo projects can be a good thing, or a bad thing.

One view could be that band members becoming involved with other musicians and projects can stimulate the nucleus of their ‘usual’ band…

Another, perhaps more sinister view, is that is shows that the cracks are starting to appear….

Whichever way you see it, side projects are interesting, worthwhile things and fans love them!

Today’s question concerns a recording that, in it’s day was very topical, and can most certainly be described as experimental and interesting!

The above cover art will be familiar to some of you….KajaFax has showcased this track before. 🙂

Here is the question:

Im-mac Logic – the musical outfit comprising of Mulligan (from Fashiøn), and Nick Beggs, released a one off single in 1984. What was it?

It’s the last Sunday of the competition and hopefully you are all well on your way to a full set of correct answers!

Before we ask today’s question, we have another important message. 😉

It is Nick Beggs’ birthday today!

clique

The ‘Manhattan Clique’ are producers, remixers, and writers Philip Larsen and Chris Smith.

In 2009, the pair remixed a Kajagoogoo track and in the process gave it a whole new lease of life for the 21st century.

It would be fair to say that they did a great job 🙂

Todays question is about that particular remix.

Which Kajagoogoo fan favourite was remixed in 2009 by the Manhattan Clique ?

We shall meet again tomorrow for question 16………

KajaHunt 2013 – Day 14

December 14, 2013

‘KajaHunt’ Treasure Hunt Competition Day 14

Christmas-Divider

Welcome to Day 14 of the annual KajaFax ‘Treasure Hunt’ competition!

Our fourteenth question is one about the band, rather than any one specific band member….

Extra-play

In 1984, Kajagoogoo released their second album, ‘Islands’.  The record produced several hit singles and sold well, hitting the top 40 album charts in both the UK and over Europe.

In the United States of America however, 1984 saw a slightly different sequence of events.

‘Kaja’ as the band was now known Stateside, released the same collection of songs, but packaged and marketed rather differently…..

extra play back

Here is the question for today:

Islands…..but for the USA market.  What was it called ?

For a quick recap of the rules of the competition, please follow this KajaLink: https://kajafax.co.uk/kajahunt-2013/.

While you contemplate that question, why not check out our ‘Track of the Week’

The month of December is special, as Limahl’s Christmas single, London For Christmas, features for the whole advent period as our featured track.

If you like it, remember that the CD single is included in one of the KajaHunt  prize packs.

If you really like the song and want to help make it a festive hit, why not buy a copy?
