All ‘goo fans know that several of the songs that appeared on the White Feathers album and as b-sides to the early singles were originally written and performed by Art Nouveau.  Despite a wealth of material and a whole load of demo and bootleg recordings, Art Nouveau only ever released one ‘proper’ single – Fear Machine.

‘KajaHunt’ Treasure Hunt Competition Day 4

Welcome to KajaHunt day 4! Hopefully, you have answered our first three questions correctly are quietly confident that you are in with a chance of a prize pack for Christmas!

Today, we stay on the subject of our favourite bass player – Mr Nicholas Beggs.

As most Kajagoogoo fans will know (often to their frustration), Nick is an incredibly busy man and is in great demand as a touring and studio musician both on the bass guitar and Chapman Stick. Such is the talent of the man that he has written recorded and toured with some of the best musicians in the world and is universally considered to be a virtuoso – one of the best in the business.

As such, Nick is what you may refer to as a wanted man 🙂

Nick has shared the stage with almost everybody of note within the industry, but today’s question concerns one particular musician – one who was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That musician is none other than Steve Hackett.

‘KajaHunt’ Treasure Hunt Competition Day 3

Welcome to KajaHunt day 3!  Hopefully, you have two correct answers so far and are well on the way to a chance of winning a prize.

Do you like the artwork? We call it ‘Nick Beggs……in the style of Andy Warhol’.  “Nice….but what is the connection between the two?” I hear you ask.  Well, looking back through Kajagoogoo’s history there is an vague connection between Warhol and the ‘Goo.  In the March of 1984, Duran Duran played a second night at the Madison Square Garden, New York.  The date had been added due to the frenzied sell-out of the first night performance on March 19th.  If press reports are to be believed, the second night audience was peppered with celebrity ticket-holders.

Both Nick Beggs and Andy Warhol were in attendance that night.

The links between Duran Duran and Kajagoogoo are well documented, and we all know that Limahl was instrumental in that chance hookup with the Durannies back in ’82.  Warhol saw Duran Duran as a walking, talking, real life version of his ‘Pop Art’ imagery and was a personal friend of the band.  One member of Duran in particular was both influenced and and an influence on Warhol, and it is this member that our question is about. Here comes today’s puzzler….
