Macmillan Cancer Support Charity Event…. A Night in Review

September 7, 2013

As announced earlier in the week, last night saw Limahl perform live at the Park Plaza, Charnock Richard.  The event was a charity fundraiser in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

One half of team KajaFax was able to attend the event and as promised, we have a full report 🙂

After meeting Limahl over lunch, we were lucky enough to be invited to his hotel suite for a chat, which was an unexpected treat for us – Limahl was a genial host and made us really welcome.  After discussing the venue, his imminent performance, and also his plans for 2014, Limahl was called for a photo session with the press in attendance, and as a continuation of our ‘behind the scenes’ tour, we went down to the foyer to be met by photographers, journalists, hotel management and staff,  and of course Kajafans.

He finally took to the stage just before 9pm, and treated us to a great half hour set of chat and chart hits…

Too Shy

Only for Love

Hang on Now

Never Ending Story

With both live music and music from the resident DJ before and after his set, this really was a great evening.  Limahl was superb – both vocally and ‘after-show’ as he signed autographs and posed for photographs with fans.

The final part of the night before the DJ took us into the early hours was of course the raffle, drawn by the organisers and Limahl.

Here’s what happened….

A huge debt of gratitude is owed to everybody involved with the event – not only Louise and her team at Ravat & Ray Dental Care, but also to the Park Plaza and Best Western for hosting the event free of charge, as well as the artists who gave their time and performed for free.

A thank you is also due to those local businesses that offered their support by the donation of prizes for the raffle.

Remember, you can still donate via text message:

We will add more media to this post as we can – all being well, we will have newspaper reports to follow.

Thanks for visiting KajaFax – the number 1 Kajagoogoo resource on the web!

I wish I could get info sooner on Limahl/Kajagoogoo concerts 😦

      Hi Scott,

We do upload individual posts on many Limahl events if they are in the UK, if the event is a major event, or if the show is a solo one and not part of a multi-group line-up. All other events that he is involved in get listed in the ‘Live’ page of the site.

My advice would be to check the ‘Live’ page every week – click on ‘Discography and Live’ on our banner header to get there. 🙂
